Ingredients

  • Boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Cornstarch
  • Eggs
  • Oil for frying
  • Garlic, minced
  • Ginger, minced
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Soy sauce
  • Rice vinegar
  • Hoisin sauce
  • Sugar
  • Chicken broth
  • Green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Coat chicken pieces in cornstarch, then dip in beaten eggs.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok and fry chicken until golden brown. Remove and drain excess oil.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes until fragrant.
  4. Mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, sugar, and chicken broth to form the sauce.
  5. Pour sauce into the skillet and bring to a simmer, thickening slightly.
  6. Return the chicken to the skillet, tossing to coat evenly with the sauce.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • For a healthier option, try baking or air-frying the chicken instead of deep-frying.
  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes.
