2 cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp nutmeg
¼ tsp salt
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 medium apples, peeled and diced
½ cup milk
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch cake pan.
In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
Gradually add the dry ingredients, alternating with milk. Fold in diced apples.
Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Let cool before serving. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with caramel sauce.
