Enjoy homemade Big Apple Fritters, crispy on the outside and soft inside, filled with tender apples and warm cinnamon. A perfect sweet snack or breakfast treat!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¾ cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chopped apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 tbsp milk (for glaze)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • In another bowl, beat eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
  • Toss chopped apples with lemon juice and fold into the batter.
  • Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  • Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Remove and drain on paper towels.
  • Mix powdered sugar and milk to make a glaze, then drizzle over fritters.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use firm apples for the best texture.
  • Adjust glaze consistency by adding more milk or sugar.
  • Best enjoyed fresh but can be reheated in an oven at 300°F.
