  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4-5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté chopped onion and garlic until soft. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth.
  4. In a greased casserole dish, layer half of the potato slices, followed by half of the cooked beef mixture, and then half of the shredded cheese.
  5. Repeat the layers, finishing with a final layer of cheese on top.
  6. Pour the soup mixture evenly over the casserole.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Let rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
