Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb roast beef, thinly sliced
  • 8 slices of bread (or hoagie rolls)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or provolone)
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the sauce:
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
  3. Heat the roast beef:
In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the beef broth and sliced roast beef, stirring to coat. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until the beef is heated through.
  4. Assemble the sandwiches:
Spread the sauce evenly on each slice of bread (or hoagie rolls). Top half of the bread slices with warm roast beef and sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  5. Toast the sandwiches:
Place the sandwiches open-faced on a baking sheet. Bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Place the remaining bread slices on top to complete the sandwiches.
  6. Serve hot with your favorite sides and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • You can use deli-style roast beef or leftover roast beef for convenience.
  • Add sautéed onions, mushrooms, or bell peppers for extra flavor and texture.
