Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb roast beef, thinly sliced
  • 8 slices of bread (or hoagie rolls)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or provolone cheese
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sauce:
In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
  2. Heat the roast beef:
In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add beef broth and sliced roast beef, stirring to coat. Let simmer for 3-4 minutes until the beef is heated through.
  3. Assemble the sandwiches:
Spread the prepared sauce evenly on each slice of bread. Place the warm roast beef on top of half the bread slices and sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  4. Toast the sandwiches:
Place the sandwiches open-faced on a baking sheet. Broil for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Top each sandwich with the remaining bread slice.
  5. Serve hot:
Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve with your favorite sides like fries or a salad.

Notes

  • Add sautéed onions, mushrooms, or bell peppers for extra flavor.
  • Use hoagie rolls for a heartier sandwich or substitute cheese to your preference.
