  • 2 cups cooked pasta (e.g., macaroni or penne)
  • 1½ cups grated cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons plain flour
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas and corn mix
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley, for garnish
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until soft.
  • Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, forming a roux.
  • Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Continue to cook until the sauce thickens.
  • Add grated cheese to the sauce, stirring until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Combine the cheese sauce with flaked tuna, cooked pasta, and the peas and corn mix. Mix well.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Sprinkle breadcrumbs and additional cheese on top, if desired.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
