Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 slider buns
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into slider-sized pieces
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Set up a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and a breadcrumb mixture (breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and pepper).
  3. Coat chicken pieces in flour, dip in eggs, and cover in breadcrumbs. Place on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake the breaded chicken for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and fully cooked.
  5. Slice the slider buns in half horizontally. Arrange the bottom halves in the prepared baking dish.
  6. Place baked chicken pieces on each bun, spoon marinara sauce over the chicken, and sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
  7. Cover with the top halves of the buns. Brush the tops with melted butter.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese melts and the buns are golden.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

  • You can use store-bought breaded chicken if you want to save time.
  • Customize the cheese mix to your liking, using a combination of mozzarella and provolone for extra flavor.
  • These sliders are best served warm but can be reheated easily.
