This Cinnamon Cream Cheese Cookies recipe creates soft, melt-in-your-mouth cookies with a rich buttery flavor and a hint of cinnamon. The addition of cream cheese makes these cookies extra tender and creamy, while the cinnamon-sugar coating adds a deliciously spiced crunch. Perfect for holidays or a sweet snack, these easy-to-make cookies will be a hit with everyone!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
    • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together butter, cream cheese, and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon for the coating.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough and roll each ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For an extra burst of flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or cloves to the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
  • These cookies freeze well for up to 3 months—just thaw before serving.
