Ingredients

  • 12 oz rigatoni pasta
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

 

  • ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped

Instructions

  • Cook rigatoni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant.
  • Pour in crushed tomatoes, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Stir in heavy cream and parmesan cheese, mixing until smooth.
  • Add cooked rigatoni and toss to coat in the sauce.

 

  • Garnish with fresh basil and serve warm.

  • For extra protein, add cooked chicken or shrimp.
  • Use whole wheat or gluten-free pasta as needed.
  • Adjust spice level with more or less red pepper flakes.
