Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Mix in vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about ¼-inch thickness.
  • Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out cookies. Place them on the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  • Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  • Enjoy or store in an airtight container for up to a week.

Notes

  • Chill dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies.
  • Use mini chocolate chips for better shape retention.
  • Decorate with melted chocolate or sprinkles for extra charm.
