12 oz pasta (penne or fettuccine)
2 tbsp olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp butter
Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
Cook pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté garlic until fragrant.
Add tomato sauce, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes; simmer for 5 minutes.
Lower the heat and stir in heavy cream, mixing until smooth.
Add butter and Parmesan cheese, stirring until well combined.
Toss in the cooked pasta and mix until fully coated in the sauce.
Garnish with fresh basil and serve hot.
Notes
For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
Adjust spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes.
