Indulge in this delicious Italian pink sauce pasta, also known as rose pasta, combining the rich flavors of tomato sauce and cream for a smooth, velvety dish.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta (penne or fettuccine)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp butter

 

  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  • Cook pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  • In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  • Add tomato sauce, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes; simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Lower the heat and stir in heavy cream, mixing until smooth.
  • Add butter and Parmesan cheese, stirring until well combined.
  • Toss in the cooked pasta and mix until fully coated in the sauce.

 

  • Garnish with fresh basil and serve hot.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
  • Adjust spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes.

 

  • Pairs well with grilled chicken or shrimp.
