These Italian sliders are an irresistible crowd-pleaser, bursting with flavor and easy to prepare. Juicy, seasoned meats and melted cheese blend beautifully with classic Italian spices, creating a mouthwatering appetizer or quick dinner option.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 slider buns
  • 500g ground beef or ground chicken
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 slices provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or chicken, breaking it apart as it browns. Add Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until fully browned and set aside.
  • Slice slider buns horizontally without separating the individual buns. Place the bottom halves of the buns in the prepared baking dish.
  • Spread the cooked meat evenly over the buns. Spoon marinara sauce over the meat and layer with provolone or mozzarella slices. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly on top.
  • Place the top halves of the slider buns over the cheese layer.
  • In a small bowl, mix melted butter with dried oregano and garlic salt. Brush this mixture over the tops of the buns.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the tops are golden.
  • Garnish with fresh basil and serve warm.

Notes

  • Feel free to add thinly sliced vegetables, like bell peppers, for extra flavor and texture.
  • You can prepare the sliders a few hours in advance and bake them just before serving.
