Mozzarella stuffed meatloaf is a delicious, flavorful dinner idea featuring tender meat seasoned perfectly and stuffed with gooey mozzarella cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp mustard

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, egg, milk, paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
  • Spread half of the meat mixture evenly in the prepared pan.
  • Create a shallow well and fill it with shredded mozzarella cheese, leaving space at the edges.
  • Cover the cheese with the remaining meat mixture, sealing the edges to enclose the mozzarella completely.
  • In a small bowl, mix ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  • Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Use freshly shredded mozzarella for best results.
  • Substitute breadcrumbs with oat flour for a gluten-free option.
  • Pair with mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
