  • 4 cod fillets (about 6 oz each)

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, lemon juice, lemon zest, and garlic.

  3. Place cod fillets in a baking dish and season with salt and pepper.

  4. Pour lemon butter mixture evenly over the fish.

  5. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until cod flakes easily with a fork.

  • Use fresh cod for best flavor, but frozen (thawed) cod works too.
