    • 2 tablespoons butter (for frying)
  • For the Sauce:
    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    • 2 cups beef broth
    • 1 cup heavy cream
    • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For the Pasta Bake:
    • 12 oz egg noodles, cooked
    • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
    • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Make the meatballs:
    • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, diced onion, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, allspice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
    • Form into 1-inch meatballs.
    • Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the meatballs in batches, turning to brown on all sides. Set meatballs aside.
  • Prepare the sauce:
    • In the same skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
    • Slowly whisk in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Add heavy cream and Worcestershire sauce, then season with salt and pepper.
    • Simmer for 5-7 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
  • Assemble the pasta bake:
    • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked egg noodles, Swedish meatballs, and the creamy sauce.
    • Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch casserole dish.
    • Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake:
    • Bake for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
    • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve hot.

Notes

  • For a shortcut, you can use frozen meatballs instead of making them from scratch.
  • Add a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese on top for extra cheesy flavor.
