Ingredients
Scale
1 lb ground beef
1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade mix)
1/4 cup water
1 bag tortilla chips
2 cups shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
1/2 cup black beans (optional)
1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)
1/2 cup diced tomatoes
1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)
1/4 cup diced red onion
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
Sour cream, guacamole, and salsa for serving
Instructions
Cook the ground beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat. Stir in taco seasoning and 1/4 cup of water. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until the beef is well seasoned and most of the liquid has evaporated.
Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Assemble the nachos: On a large baking sheet or oven-safe platter, spread an even layer of tortilla chips. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese over the chips. Evenly distribute the seasoned beef, black beans (if using), and the remaining cheese on top.
Bake the nachos: Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
Add fresh toppings: Remove the nachos from the oven and top with diced tomatoes, red onion, jalapeños, black olives, and cilantro.
Serve hot: Serve immediately with sides of sour cream, guacamole, and salsa.
Notes
For extra flavor, add cooked corn or a drizzle of queso over the nachos before baking.
Customize with your favorite toppings like avocado, pickled jalapeños, or green onions.
