Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 package (16 oz) gnocchi
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Cook the gnocchi:
Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the gnocchi according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • Cook the ground beef:
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and garlic, cooking until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  • Add seasonings and tomatoes:
Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes to let the flavors combine.
  • Combine with gnocchi:
Stir the cooked gnocchi into the ground beef and tomato mixture. Mix well to coat the gnocchi in the sauce.
  • Add cheese:
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan over the top of the mixture. Cover the skillet with a lid and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish and serve:
Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve hot.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
  • Add spinach or bell peppers for extra veggies and flavor.
