  • 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, ketchup, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  • Toss chicken pieces in cornstarch until well coated.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden brown and crispy.
  • Pour the sauce over the cooked chicken and stir to coat. Cook for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot with rice or vegetables.

Notes

  • Use chicken thighs for a juicier texture.
  • Adjust spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes.
